clean-airConcerned citizens from across the state encouraged to gather in Madison on Tuesday, April 25 to lobby their legislators on priority conservation issues.


MADISON, Wis – On Tuesday, April 25, scores of voters from across Wisconsin will gather in Madison to lobby their legislators on priority conservation issues. These issues are top concerns for the 40,000-plus members and supporters of Wisconsin Conservation Voters.

Members of Wisconsin Conservation Voters have successfully advocated for vital initiatives in Gov. Tony Evers’ 2023-25 Biennial Budget proposal, now they will ask their legislators to prioritize clean energy, clean water, and a healthy democracy in the state budget.

Attendees will ask their legislators to:

  • Support the $106 million plan to address PFAS contamination statewide
  • Create a five-person Local Government Grant Resources Team
  • Implement automatic voter registration
  • Support $10 million for expanding clean energy job training and reemployment opportunities for those joining our clean energy workforce
  • Support the $400,000 plan for the Department of Natural Resources to fund Manoomin (wild rice) restoration and public education in ceded territory waters

What: Conservation Lobby Day hosted by Wisconsin Conservation Voters

Where: Best Western Premier Park Hotel, 22 S Carroll St, Madison

When: Tuesday, April 25 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Keynote begins at 10 a.m., followed by speakers. Lobby visits will take place starting at 1 p.m.
