MADISON - There will be a press conference from 12:00 noon to 12:45 p.m. in the Senate Parlor of the State Capitol on Tuesday, February 7th to announce the start of a more than 1000-mile journey, traveling around Wisconsin, to raise awareness and participation in the Feb. 21st and April 4th Wisconsin Supreme Court elections.

The Building Unity Tour for Justice and Democracy will be traveling to eight regions of Wisconsin, hosting public forums focusing on issues that are likely to come before the Court.

The Tour is the collaborative effort of many Wisconsin social, ecological, economic and democratic justice advocacy organizations. The purpose of the Tour is to promote strong voter turnout for the primary on Feb. 21st and the April 4th election.

The Tour will start from the Wisconsin State Capitol on February 7th and will make its way to the first stop in Milwaukee. The Building Unity “VoteMobile'' will move around Milwaukee, adorned with hand-painted signs and banners, to advertise a forum on Feb. 11 at Turner Hall – 1040 N Vel R Phillips Ave. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. and start promptly at 1:00 p.m.

After the forum on Feb. 11th, at 3:00 p.m., the Milwaukee community will send off a “Caravan for Justice and Democracy” traveling to the second stop on the Tour in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The second forum will be at the public library in Racine on Feb. 18th at 1:00 p.m.

Future press advisories and press releases will come out each week for the next eight weeks regarding dates and times of future events. The tour will finish its eight-week journey in Milwaukee to GET OUT THE VOTE on April 4th.
