GREEN BAY, WI - The Wisconsin’s Department of Natural Resources Secretary Adam N. Payne will be the featured speaker at the Clean Water Action Council of Northeast Wisconsin banquet on April 20 at the Riverside Ballroom, Green Bay. The Secretary’s talk, “A Focus on Clean Water” will be of great interest to the public as Wisconsin faces numerous threats to ground and surface waters. The Secretary is noted for being an active outdoorsman and conservationist who enjoys camping, hunting, and fishing.

The council will also present its annual Environmental Citizen Award to Kaukauna resident Jill Mitchler for her work on climate change. Mitchler started the Citizen’s Climate Lobby Appleton-Fox Cities Chapter in 2016 and has worked in many leadership roles to educate the public about climate change.

The banquet also features a silent auction and harp music by Dorothy Summers, a locally sourced dinner with vegan and gluten free choices, and music by Dale Anderson of the Delta Jets.

Clean Water Action Council was established in 1985 to protect human health and the environment and collaborates with the DNR on water quality sampling, permit monitoring, and legal actions.
