STEVENS POINT, Wis - Today, Katrina Shankland announced the rollout of a website pressuring Derrick Van Orden to debate: www.debatemederrick.com.
In 2022, Radical Derrick Van Orden refused to debate the Democratic candidate. He knew his extreme ideas and outlandish behavior would tank his chances of being elected to Congress. In 2024, Katrina won’t let him hide from voters.
“Radical Derrick Van Orden can’t hide from his record of failure and embarrassment – I am going to hold him accountable,” said Katrina Shankland.
Recent polling conducted by Blueprint Polling shows Katrina Shankland is the only Democrat running for Congress who beats Van Orden in the General Election this November. In the poll, Shankland bests Van Orden in the General Election 48-46% while Rebecca Cooke trails Van Orden in the simulated ballot.
Katrina is a state representative in the Wisconsin State Assembly. In the Legislature, Katrina passed 180 bipartisan laws, including increased access to affordable rural healthcare, help for farmers, expanded protections for first responders, and stronger clean water laws. Katrina is running for Congress to bring some common sense to the Capitol, fight against extremism, and deliver results for the hard-working people of Wisconsin. |

In celebration of Women’s History Month, we’re highlighting the work that President Biden and Vice President Harris are doing every day to fight for women across America — from protecting reproductive freedom to securing economic equity and opportunity. At the same time, MAGA Republicans up and down the ballot are trying to turn back the clock and undermine women’s rights.

MADISON, Wis. — Appearing today on NewsTalk 1130 WISN, Waukesha County GOP Chair Terry Dittrich blasted Wisconsin Republicans as “outgunned and out-financed, big time” in local races across the state. Complaining the state GOP’s local elections program “hasn't gone very well,” Dittrich credited Wisconsin Democrats for having “a permanent infrastructure in the state that is working 24/7.”

In response to MAGA Republicans remaining silent and even defending Donald Trump promising a “bloodbath” if he loses, DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement:
“Donald Trump has spent years threatening and defending political violence, and no one should know better how dangerous he is for our democracy than members of Congress who were in the United States Capitol on January 6. Once again, Trump’s MAGA allies are turning a blind eye as Trump promises a ‘bloodbath’ if he loses. This is the same man who has repeatedly pledged to pardon violent insurrectionists who stormed our Capitol, applauded ‘very fine people’ at the white supremacist Charlottesville rally, and constantly praises brutal dictators. Republicans will try to hide behind weak excuses, but their silence and refusal to condemn Trump’s appalling and violent rhetoric speaks volumes with voters, who will reject Trump and the GOP’s dangerous extremism in November.”
