State Legislature celebrates team after Division III national championship.
MADISON – On Tuesday, Representative Gordon Hintz (D-Oshkosh) honored the UW Oshkosh Men’s Basketball team for winning the Division III national championship last month. The Titans defeated Swarthmore 96-82 in the national title game. Representative Hintz and Senator Dan Feyen presented the team with a Joint Resolution from the State Legislature.
“Our entire community is so proud of this team for bringing a national championship to Oshkosh. These things don’t just happen. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and sacrifice. Congratulations to everyone in the Men’s Basketball program for achieving this level of excellence. I would also like to thank UW Oshkosh administrators led by Chancellor Andrew Leavitt for their support of this successful athletic department.
“I’m glad that Coach Matt Lewis, Chancellor Leavitt, and members of the team were able to come to the State Capitol to be honored for this great accomplishment.” |
