GREEN BAY, WI -- Kristina Shelton, candidate for Wisconsin State Assembly District 90, has been endorsed by Citizen Action of Wisconsin. Shelton earned the endorsement against incumbent Staush Gruszynski who was awarded the endorsement in 2018. Citizen Action is a grassroots nonprofit that has been advancing progressive public policy in Wisconsin for 40 years. The organization has members across the state, and a major membership base in Northeast Wisconsin, who champion environmental justice, voting rights, quality affordable healthcare for all, and labor issues. “Citizen Action’s endorsement means a lot to me personally,” said Shelton. “Citizen Action supporters are the most engaged members of our community. To have their backing means our campaign aligns with the leaders of the progressive movement. I am looking forward to working towards our shared legislative goals if elected in August and November.” Kristina Shelton has laid out a detailed and ambitious policy agenda. Her priorities include funding for infrastructure and environmental resiliency, affordable healthcare for all, and restoring the strength of Wisconsin’s unions. In addition, she has collected stories from 90th District residents affected by COVID-19 and the economic crisis. Her opponent in the Democratic Party primary, Staush Gruszynksi, was asked to step down after sexually harassing a Capitol staffer last October. After refusing to resign, Gruszynksi was removed from the Democratic Assembly Caucus and relieved of his committee assignments. This means that as the Legislature responds to the pandemic and record unemployment numbers, constituents of the 90th District have no voice in the room.
Shelton’s campaign expects to announce further organization endorsements in the coming weeks. ***** For more information: |
