Would allow certified dietitians to prescribe diets to residents of a long term care facility.
MADISON – The Wisconsin State Senate passed legislation Tuesday surrounding the ability of certified dietitians to participate in the timely distribution of care.
Senate Bill 385, co-authored by Senator Patrick Testin (R – Stevens Point) and Senator Lena Taylor (D – Milwaukee), will allow certified dietitians to prescribe diets to residents of a long term care facility.
“I am excited for the potential health and cost-saving benefits this legislation will have, particularly for regions of the state with high health care needs,” said Senator Lena Taylor (D-Milwaukee). “With a growing population and an increasing demand for health services, we need to make sure we use our health resources efficiently. This bill is a step in that direction.”
Senate Bill 385 will need to go through the Assembly in order to advance.
