crawford-heats-2025For Letting 6,000 Sexual Assault Kits Sit for Over Two Years

MADISON, Wis. – On Thursday in Green Bay, Judge Susan Crawford, candidate for the Wisconsin Supreme Court, will host a press conference to call out Brad Schimel for letting over 6,000 sexual assault kits sit untested for over two years — an alarming failure that delayed justice for survivors of sexual assault. Judge Crawford will be joined by former Brown County Assistant District Attorney and State Rep. Ryan Spaude.

brad-schimelAs Attorney General, Brad Schimel only tested nine sexual assault kits out of a backlog of over 6,000 during his first two years in office, delaying justice for countless victims of sexual assault. And as Waukesha County District Attorney, Schimel allowed 26 rape kits to go untested for years — even for a victim as young as three years old. While Schimel dragged his feet, predators remained on the streets, and survivors were left without justice. Justice delayed is justice denied, and Brad Schimel is just too extreme for Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court race will be on the Spring election ballot on April 1, 2025. More information about Judge Crawford is available online at www.CrawfordForWI.com.
