trump-jan6-attackYesterday, as Wisconsin Democrats gather for the “Fighting for Our Freedoms” State Convention in Milwaukee, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, DNC Chair Jaime Harrison, and Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Ben Wikler highlighted Democratic enthusiasm in the state and slammed convicted felon Donald Trump for his record of ripping away freedoms and attacking democracy.

In just a few weeks, Donald Trump and his MAGA allies will be in Milwaukee for the RNC convention, where they will double down on their agenda to strip away freedoms, attack democracy, and raise costs for hardworking Wisconsinites.

Meanwhile, President Biden, Vice President Harris, Senator Baldwin, and Democrats up and down the ballot are running on a platform to protect our fundamental rights and safeguard democracy. And with 47 coordinated offices across the state and over 100 staff on the ground, Wisconsin Democrats have the infrastructure to win. It’s a stark contrast to Donald Trump and the RNC, who have virtually no campaign infrastructure in the state and are scrambling to catch up to the Democratic fundraising advantage.

“Every single day, we are going to make sure voters know the choice they have in November. One between personal freedom or government control. Between good-paying jobs for working families or corporate tax handouts. Between lower prescription drug prices or the repeal of the Affordable Care Act. When the RNC descends on Milwaukee next month, this choice will be on full display,” said Illinois Governor JB Pritzer. “I am proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Wisconsin Democrats today and every day as we make sure that our Blue Wall remains strong, that we send Joe Biden and Kamala Harris back to the White House, that we reelect Tammy Baldwin, and support Democrats up and down the ballot.”

“President Biden and Vice President Harris are fighting to protect access to abortion and contraception, safeguard our democracy, and lower costs for American families,” said DNC Chair Jaime Harrison. “The stakes of this election are high, but I have seen what our country can achieve when we come together. When the people tune in this August, they will find a Democratic National Convention that is honoring these achievements and more.”

“Let’s be clear: Democrats have shown up in Milwaukee and have made significant investments in infrastructure and organization. We are here for the long haul. We are not parachuting into communities at the last minute and demanding their vote – we are having the conversations needed to persuade and turn out voters,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Ben Wikler. “Republicans showing up in Milwaukee in the eleventh hour is not going to cut it. Their last-minute efforts cannot match our sustained commitment and groundwork. The truth is that the RNC and Wisconsin Republicans have not shown up for Wisconsinites and are not doing the work and investing in the communities to win in November.”
