Evers to release $140 million to address hospital closures and PFAS contamination. This marks the second time in a month Republicans chose to ignore the governor’s call to release funds that have already been approved by the Legislature. For 307 days, Republicans have refused to release the $125 million allocated to combat PFAS contamination statewide. Additionally, for 69 days, they have withheld the $15 million intended to stabilize healthcare access in Western Wisconsin following recent hospital and clinic closures.
“As the Democratic members of JFC, we remain committed to getting these funds into the communities that need them the most. It is time for Republicans to put politics aside, and prioritize the health and safety of all Wisconsinites.”
