GREEN BAY – Mayor Genrich, Alder Steuer and Seth Hoffmeister, Chair of the Sustainability Commission, will unveil Green Bay's Clean Energy Plan. In May 2021, the City of Green Bay approved a resolution establishing a climate goal of 100% clean energy and carbon neutrality for the entire Green Bay community, including residents, government, and businesses, by 2050.

In 2022, the City was awarded a state grant to create a comprehensive energy plan that will guide how the City pursues this goal during the next 5 to 10 years. In winter 2023, feedback was collected through residential and business surveys to inform the plan and ensure it adequately addressed community perspectives and concerns. On July 25, 2023, an open house was held to share the preliminary recommendations and collect feedback. This unveiling is a cumulation of these efforts over 2 years.
