Old Library (2nd floor)

966 Shawano Ave Green Bay, WI

When: Friday, August 12th at 10:00 AM

Background:

In May of 1973, as part of a citywide student contest, Green Bay’s Common Council along with former Green Bay Mayor Thomas Atkinson adopted Theresa’s design as the City's official flag.

When Theresa Devroy submitted the winning design she was a junior at West High School. Following high school, Devroy attended and graduated from Madison Technical School with an associate degree in technical art and continued to work for an advertising company in Green Bay. Unfortunately, Devroy's promising career was cut short due to an unexpected illness. Theresa Devroy passed away at the age of 21 on November 14, 1977.

With an interest to revive this classic design and do some good for local schools, the City of Green Bay has been fortunate to work with Ms. Devroy's family to secure the design to raise funds for Green Bay Area Public Schools' arts programming.

All donations received by the Green Bay Area Public Schools Education Foundation will be put toward Green Bay Area Public Schools' arts programming.
