MADISON – Today, Assembly Democratic Leader Gordon Hintz (D-Oshkosh) formally appointed Representative Chris Taylor (D-Madison) and Representative Evan Goyke (D-Milwaukee) to the Legislature’s powerful Joint Committee on Finance (JFC).
“Representative Taylor has years of experience on this committee and she will continue to be an important, progressive voice. When I served with her on JFC, I valued her legal background and thorough manner of questioning. I am also honored to appoint my colleague Representative Evan Goyke. I am always impressed by Evan’s thoughtful, methodical work and his ability to serve as a voice for the voiceless in our society. I know that he will step in on day one and bring a valuable perspective to the budget process. Both members will play a key role in helping to pass Governor-Elect Evers’ budget.” The JFC is the principal legislative committee charged with the review of all state appropriations and revenues, including a comprehensive review of the Governor’s biennial budget recommendations. The committee has 16 members, comprised of 12 Republicans and 4 Democrats. Representative Taylor and Representative Goyke welcomed their appointments, and are looking forward to the process of beginning work on the biennial budget.
