MADISON - I hope you’re having a good start to your week. Wisconsin Democrats are fired up to reelect President Biden and Vice President Harris in November.

Over the weekend, Maryland Governor Wes Moore embarked on a two-day tour across Wisconsin that included a Black men’s health roundtable in Madison, a Black coalition cookout in Milwaukee, and a Black coalition meet and greet in Kenosha. While Trump has repeatedly failed Black Wisconsinites, President Biden and Vice President Harris have overseen record small business creation by Black entrepreneurs, lowered health care costs for Black Americans, and forgiven billions in student-loan debt that disproportionately impacts Black borrowers. He also joined Governor Tony Evers and Wisconsin Dems to open the 48th Wisconsin Democratic coordinated campaign office on Madison’s north side and participate in one of over 100 canvass launches throughout the state over the weekend.

Governor Moore’s tour is the latest example of the Biden-Harris campaign’s continued efforts to invest in reaching Black voters, including the largest and earliest investment in Black media by a reelection campaign to date.

During last week’s debate, President Biden underscored how he’s spent every day of his administration fighting to better the lives of the American people and families. At the same time, Trump spewed lies and showcased his extremist agenda throughout the debate, refusing to answer whether he would respect the results of the election three times, calling overturning Roe a “great thing,” and defending his plans to cut taxes for the ultra-wealthy.

After the debate, Wisconsin leaders are highlighting their support for President Biden and emphasizing the threat Trump poses:

Governor Tony Evers: “Donald Trump is a dangerous threat to democracy, he’s incapable of being honest and telling the truth, and I am deeply concerned about his radical agenda and what he will do if he returns to the Oval Office. [...]
At the end of the day, I think the choice in this election is clear, and it’s always been clear. One debate doesn’t change how President Biden has delivered for Wisconsin over the last three and a half years. I supported President Biden four years ago, and I support him still today.”

Wisconsin Democratic Party Chair Ben Wikler: "Last night, one guy needed a lozenge, and the other guy needed a reminder that he's not running for dictator of North Korea."

Congresswoman Gwen Moore responded to Donald Trump's bizarre and racist comment about "Black jobs" and released a statement saying “President Biden’s record speaks for itself. He rescued the economy from a devastating recession, lowered the cost of prescription drugs, and made investments to revive manufacturing jobs, remove lead pipes, and fix our crumbling roads and bridges.”

Secretary of State Sarah Godlewski: "What we saw an hour after the debate was that the Biden campaign had some of its best grassroots fundraising numbers of the campaign, period. That is showing people are behind Joe Biden and continue to invest in his campaign because the stakes are that significant, whether it's the attacks on democracy, or fundamental freedoms, or economic security."
