MADISON — Gov. Evers announced today his appointment of Adam Gerol to the Ozaukee County Circuit Court – Branch 1. The appointment fills a vacancy being created by Judge Paul V. Malloy’s retirement. Gerol will complete a term ending July 31, 2025.

“Adam Gerol has been a dedicated public servant for decades,” said Gov. Evers. “His experience and commitment to his community will serve the people of Ozaukee County well.”

Gerol has served as the Ozaukee County District Attorney since 2009. He was first appointed to the position by former Gov. Doyle and has subsequently been reelected three times. Earlier in his career, he served as an assistant district attorney in both Milwaukee and Ozaukee Counties, was in the criminal litigation division of the Wisconsin Department of Justice, and practiced business and healthcare litigation in Southeast Wisconsin.

“I have known Adam for more than thirty years and applaud Gov. Evers’ selection,” said Ozaukee County Circuit Court – Branch 3 Judge Sandy A. Williams. “Having witnessed his career, I know that he will bring the highest level of integrity, compassion, and fairness with him to the Ozaukee County Circuit Court.”

Gerol resides in Mequon and is a graduate of the University of Iowa and the Drake University Law School. He is currently a member of the Wisconsin Crime Victims Rights Board, has been a member of multiple joint legislative council study committees, and previously served as president of the Wisconsin District Attorneys Association.
