MADISON - It’s hard to decide which is more despicable: Scott Walker’s assault on our state’s core principles, or his bold faced lies about doing it. Walker tried to secretly change the Wisconsin Idea, and then he lied about his true intentions.

In his 2016-17 budget proposal, Walker tried to rewrite the University of Wisconsin’s mission statement. Known as the “Wisconsin Idea,” the university states that it’s committed to “educate people and improve the human condition,” “serve and stimulate society,” and “search for truth.”

All great things, right? Well, not according to Walker. But the worst was when he got called out for it. His response was that it was all a big misunderstanding—some sort of “drafting error.” But the search for truth showed that Walker DID intentionally try to change the Wisconsin Idea!
