teensOSHKOSH, WI – A recent Legislative Fiscal Bureau memo detailed that school districts serving students in Senate District 18 saw $14.5 million worth of cuts in general school aid since 2010. Additionally, nearly half of local school districts saw more than 10% of their general school aid funding cut.

mark-harris“This new memo shows yet again the misplaced budget priorities of Madison Republicans, who have repeatedly given millions in tax breaks for the wealthy while cutting K-12 general school aid," said Winnebago County Executive and State Senate Candidate Mark Harris in a statement released earlier today. "These cuts have resulted in serious challenges for our local schools and harmed the quality of education that our children receive.”

“We cannot continue to turn our backs on the futures of our children," said Harris. "As your next State Senator, I will fight to reinvest in local public school funding and restore Wisconsin’s reputation as a national leader in K-12 education.”
