MADISON - Senator Dave Hansen (D-Green Bay) says he is looking forward to presenting the UWGB Phoenix Women’s and Men’s basketball teams with citations from the State Senate honoring their accomplishments and their NCAA tournament bids.

“As a 1971 graduate I have watched a lot of Phoenix basketball over the years. And it’s always exciting when one of our teams makes the tournament,” said Hansen who represents the UWGB campus in the State Senate. “But to have both teams in the tournament at the same time is a great accomplishment and will provide a lot of great moments for Phoenix fans. Friday is going to be an exciting day!”

“I don’t think you can say enough good things about the players, the coaches and their supporters," said Hansen.  "We gave it our best with the citations but words can only express our pride and excitement so much.”
