MADISON - After weeks of playing coy, Senator Ron Johnson today cast one of the last two votes to move forward with debate on the latest disastrous Trumpcare idea to repeal the Affordable Care Act without any plan to protect the health insurance of hundreds of thousands of hard-working Wisconsin families.

When Senator Ron Johnson woke up this morning, he had no idea what version of the bill he would ultimately be voting for. Ahead of the vote, Senator Johnson told reporters on Capitol Hill, “I don't have a clue what we're gonna be voting on." Yet, Senator Ron Johnson still voted to continue the process to take away health care from up to 32 million people.

Senator Ron Johnson isn't listening to the people he represents by voting to advance the repeal of the Affordable Care Act and strip health care insurance away from hard working Wisconsin families," said Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesman Brandon Weathersby. "Republicans must stop abandoning everyday families. Instead, they should work with Democrats on a bill that abandons repeal, abandons cuts to Medicaid, abandons tax cuts for the wealthy, and is done in regular order and not behind closed doors."
