healthcareScott Walker is still suing to end the ACA and gut protections for pre-existing conditions.

MADISON - With a week left in the election, Scott Walker continues to run from his long record of undermining health care in Wisconsin. Walker refused to accept federal money to expand BadgerCare to 70,000 more people in the state, a position that has actually cost state $1.1 billion in taxpayer funds. He endorsed national efforts to repeal the ACA and even floated the idea of accepting a waiver to allow insurers to charge more for people with pre-existing conditions.

And most concerning for Wisconsin families, Walker’s attacks on health care access continue to this day. Wisconsin - with Walker’s approval - is still suing to end the ACA and gut protections for pre-existing conditions, while pushing a state level plan that would fall well short of current protections.

If Walker gets his way, Wisconsinites in all 72 counties would be affected.

“Scott Walker is still in court suing to undermine protections for Wisconsinites with pre-existing conditions. No matter where you live in Wisconsin, his actions will threaten the health security of families in your community,” said DPW Spokesperson Alex Japko. “Health care is on the ballot this November and Wisconsin voters can finally hold Walker accountable for his terrible record on health care.”

Here’s a conservative estimate* of how many people in each county could be uninsurable in each county if Walker’s lawsuit to gut protections for pre-existing conditions is successful:
