Former Minneapolis police officer involved in the death of George Floyd has been charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN - A former Minneapolis police officer involved in the death of George Floyd has been arrested and taken into custody, local authorities announced Friday.

Fired officer Derek Chauvin's arrest was announced by Public Safety Commissioner John Harrington, according to local reports.
