GREEN BAY, WI - There is a public health order currently in place, issued on May 13, 2020 by Brown County Health and Human Services Department-Public Health Division (Public Health). The City of Green Bay and the Green Bay Police Department are asking for the Green Bay Community for voluntary compliance with the order for the safety of everyone in the Green Bay community.

Brown County Public Health does not expect or intend local law enforcement agencies to enforce the county health order declared last night. They understand this is a health emergency and issue but they may at times need the support of local law enforcement.

Reported violations of the order may be investigated by Brown County Public Health.

All reported violations of the order called in to the Brown County Communications Center will be vetted by Communication Center personnel. Generally speaking, safer at home order violations will not result in an officer being dispatched. Rather, those violation will be logged and investigated by Public Health if they deem it necessary.

Brown County Public Health’s actions may include education, warnings, citations or license revocation. The Health Department wants to emphasize voluntary compliance and will try to take the least restrictive measure as possible to gain compliance.
