affordablecareState Legislators, local officials and health care experts call press conference Tuesday to highlight their support for the 'Elijah E. Cummings Lower Drug Costs Now Act of 2019'.

MADISON, WI - Tomorrow at 11:00 AM CT, Senator Jon Erpenbach, Representative Chris Taylor, rheumatologist, professor, and health care consultant Timothy Harrington, and Lafayette County Supervisor Kriss Marion, who relied on prescription drugs, will call out Trump’s broken promises to lower prescription drug costs. In addition, they will highlight their support and the need for members of both parties to support H.R. 3 -- the “Elijah E. Cummings Lower Drug Costs Now Act of 2019.”

The legislation would allow Medicare to negotiate prices on up to 250 drugs, bring down costs by up to 55%, and reduce spending by all payers by $750 billion to $1 trillion, according to the CBO. Despite this, President Trump has refused to support the legislation, continuing to break his promises to lower prescription drug costs as well as allow Medicare to negotiate with the pharmaceutical industry.
