vets-gi-billRepresentatives Snodgrass, Spreitzer, Cabrera, Neubauer, and Senator Carpenter praise prioritization of non-discrimination in lifting of ban for transgender service members

MADISON — Representatives Lee Snodgrass (D-Appleton), Mark Spreitzer (D-Beloit), Marisabel Cabrera (D-Milwaukee), Greta Neubauer (D-Racine), and Senator Tim Carpenter (D-Milwaukee) released the following statement regarding the Biden administration rescinding the ban on transgender service members serving in the military:

“With today’s action lifting the ban on transgender individuals serving in the military, the Biden administration demonstrates that discrimination has no place in our armed services. If an individual desires to defend their country in military service, is qualified to do so, and upholds the standards for service, they should be allowed to serve openly and free from discrimination. We are grateful that all new recruits may feel that the Commander-in-Chief has their back, as they have the back of our nation.”
