GREEN BAY, WI - Mayor Eric Genrich issued the following statement Tuesday on the WEDC $500,000 Grant to purchase decommissioned Pulliam Plant property and relocate the coal pile.

eric-genrich“First, I want to acknowledge and thank Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach for partnering with the City of Green Bay as we each work to improve the economic and natural vitality of the port, the Fox River, and Greater Green Bay. WPS’s cooperation, Brown County’s investment, and the WEDC’s critical support for this project will all help unlock transformational change on Green Bay’s waterfront. Finally, I thank Governor Evers and Secretary Hughes for recognizing the value of the City and County’s efforts to expand port activity and relocate the coal piles away from our downtown, which will benefit the regional economy and dramatically improve the quality-of-life for area residents.

“This is the first step of a lengthy journey ahead, but it’s an enormous one. I look forward to continued work with the Port of Green Bay, Brown County, C. Reiss, and the Green Bay Redevelopment Authority and Common Council as we maintain our shared focus on activating Green Bay’s waterfront for the 21st century.”
