MADISON – Senator Dave Hansen (D-Green Bay) and State Representative Staush Gruszynski (D-Green Bay) expressed their appreciation after learning that Governor Evers’ proposed 2019-2021 Capital Budget will include $2 million in state funding for the Greater Green Bay Convention and Visitors Bureau’s proposed Greater Green Bay Visitor Education Center, to be located near the Green Bay Packers Titletown District and the intersection of Highway 41 and Lombardi Avenue.

Both Senator Hansen and Representative Gruszynski requested funding for the center be included in the Governor’s budget.

staush-gruszynski“I was proud to fight for this exciting project and I am pleased to learn that Governor Evers decided to support the Greater Green Bay Visitor Education Center and include it in his proposed Capital Budget,” Gruszynski said. “This public-private partnership will help the nearly 5.7 million annual visitors to Brown County understand what makes Green Bay and Northeast Wisconsin so special by connecting them with a range of services and information. Since those visitors spend roughly $671 million annually, this project will support continued economic development and job creation long after construction is completed. I sincerely hope that the State Legislature supports the Governor’s budget so that this project can become a reality.”

dave-hansen“This is a project that is very important to our area economy and continuing economic development and job creation. We are extremely pleased and appreciative that Governor Evers understands the importance of the new center and chose to include state assistance in the budget,” said Hansen.
