caw-rexnord-2016If you want to make Northeast Wisconsin a better place to live and work, join other area citizens this Tuesday, October 11 to launch a drive to talk to hundreds of residents about a new Green Bay member-based progressive organization fighting every day for what YOU want to change.

GREEN BAY - Citizen Action of Wisconsin, an issue focused coalition of individuals and organizations committed to achieving social, economic, and environmental justice originally formed in Milwaukee, is starting an Organizing Cooperative right here in Green Bay next Tuesday.

Citizen Action has over 42,000 individual members and 123,000 supporters. They come from all over Wisconsin, from each of our 99 state assembly districts and from all walks of life. They are rural and urban, young and old, lower, middle and upper income, male and female, multi-racial and have different faiths and political persuasions. Approximately 45% are Democrats, 34% Republicans and 17% independents.

Organizing Cooperatives are groups of organized progressives and people who care about social justice in a geographic area, coming together to work on all of the issues that we all care about. Everyone has a long list of ways they wish the world would be made a better place, and together we organize people to put their small dues to hire their own organizer, elected leaders and make a difference in their community.

A short video entitled Citizen Action of WI Organizing Cooperative: The Idea is presented below.

The first Organizing Cooperative was launched in Greater Milwaukee in Summer 2015, with the second co-op in Western Wisconsin around Eau Claire launching in March 2016. Now, groups ranging from Wausau, to Appleton, to Green Bay are seeking to organize together with us.

If you want to make Northeast Wisconsin a better place to live and work, join host Martha Haugen and others at Ft Howard Apartments this coming Tuesday, October 11 to launch the beginning of a 60 day drive to talk to hundreds of N.E.W.i residents about the new Green Bay based Organizing Cooperative, a member-based progressive organization fighting every day for what YOU want to change and ask them what should we do?
