trees_forestMADISON - Senator Janet Bewley offered the following Democratic Weekly Radio address today encouraging Wisconsinites to explore the beautiful rural parts across the state.

janet-bewley"There’s something for everyone all across this great state. I may be biased, but I believe Wisconsin’s rural attractions are second to none. And fall is a great time to get out and enjoy them. Not only is it good for your soul, your investment in rural Wisconsin helps keep a special way of life alive." - Sen. Janet Bewley

A written transcript of the address is below:

"Those of us lucky enough to live in rural Wisconsin know how beautiful this state is.  For our urban neighbors and anyone from a neighboring state, we invite you to come and experience it for yourself. Hike the rolling hills and lush woodlands, paddle on our streams and rivers, fish in our lakes and watch the sun rise or set over lakes Michigan and Superior.

"There’s something for everyone all across this great state.  I may be biased, but I believe Wisconsin’s rural attractions are second to none.  And fall is a great time to get out and enjoy them.  Not only is it good for your soul, your investment in rural Wisconsin helps keep a special way of life alive.

"Visit Bayfield for the annual Apple Festival, chosen as one of the “10 Best Fall Harvest Festivals” last year by USA TODAY.  Come and celebrate the autumn harvest and Bayfield’s agricultural heritage. Take a trip to Southcentral Wisconsin for the Fermentation Fest and Farm/Art DTour.  This event combines a celebration of live culture in all its forms and a 50-mile self-guided tour through the beautiful, unglaciated hills and valleys of Sauk County.

"Or find one of the other festivals celebrating Wisconsin’s rural treasures, both new and old.  Get out and enjoy all the things we love about rural Wisconsin.  We look forward to seeing you."
