MADISON - Senator Johnson continues to embrace Donald Trump even in the wake of Trump’s hateful remarks about the Khan family. Johnson joined one of the most well-known “never Trump” advocates, Charlie Sykes, on his radio show this morning. Rather than join Sykes, Rep. Reid Ribble and others by taking a stand and denouncing Trump, Senator Johnson doubled down on his support. Like a true Washington politician he is sticking to his talking points, saying he agrees with Trump's objectives and reaffirmed that he'd vote for Trump

donald-trumpIncredibly, it took four days for Johnson to realize that Trump should even apologize for his comments. When asked if he believed Trump would apologize though, Johnson paused and said “probably not.” Apparently that doesn’t matter to Senator Johnson.

“Senator Johnson’s support for Donald Trump to be the next commander-in-chief is a clear indication that he's not serious about keeping Americans safe and honoring our veterans. Like a typical Washington insider, Senator Johnson won't listen to Wisconsinites who want him to stand up to Donald Trump and his dangerous rhetoric that puts Americans at risk. Instead, he's content to stay silent and give Donald Trump control of the nuclear codes,” said Harry Hartfield, spokesman for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin.
