MIDDLETON – President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden endorsed Russ’s bid for the U.S. Senate Friday. Citing Russ’s commitment to fighting for middle class and working families, President Obama and Vice President Biden announced their support for Russ.

"Russ Feingold is a proven champion for middle class families,” said President Obama. “He listens to the people of Wisconsin, and he's always led their fight for good-paying jobs, affordable college education, and a secure retirement. Russ is an honest, independent-minded public servant who's not driven by what's politically expedient; he's driven by what he knows is right for the people of Wisconsin. I'm proud to endorse him in his campaign for United States Senate," said Obama.

"Russ Feingold is a friend and a tireless advocate for the working families of Wisconsin,” said Vice President Biden. “We've fought together to grow our economy, raise wages for American workers, protect Social Security and clean up our campaign finance system. I'm happy to support his campaign for United States Senate, because I know the good work he'll continue to do for Wisconsin and our nation," said Biden.

“I’m proud to have the support of President Obama and Vice President Biden,” said Russ. “I’ve worked with both of them and share their commitment to our middle class and working families. In the past seven years, their leadership has guided us to a stronger economy, and I look forward to building on that progress by fighting to create even more opportunities for Wisconsin families.”
