Senator Tim KaineEvent Will Be Held in Milwaukee, June 5-6

MADISON -- This year's Democratic Party of Wisconsin State Convention will feature U.S. Senator Tim Kaine as its keynote speaker in Milwaukee on June 5th.

Held on June 5-6 in Milwaukee this year, the convention is the state Party's biggest annual event where Democrats from all corners of Wisconsin join together to build the Party, hear from outstanding Democratic leaders, see old friends and make new ones.

This year’s convention will focus on what Democrats must do this year and next to take back Russ Feingold’s Senate seat and deliver our state’s ten electoral votes for our next Democratic President. We must also focus on long-term Party building so that we can elect more Democratic leaders who are committed to addressing income inequality and fighting for the very institutions that ensure a strong, vibrant middle-class. Together we will not only undo the damage Scott Walker has done to our great state, but rebuild our progressive legacy and become once again a leader in education, civil rights, workers rights, healthcare, and environmental standards.

“As Wisconsin Democrats prepare to organize and grow our Party in advance of a critical election year, it’s with great excitement that we welcome a progressive champion like Senator Tim Kaine, who has worked tirelessly at every level of government to fight for veterans, healthcare, our environment, education, and civil rights," Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Tuesday. "I’m certain that Party members will be inspired by Senator Kaine’s commitment to making sure everyone has a fair shot at climbing the ladder of opportunity, and will leave Milwaukee this June ready to fight for a better Wisconsin.”
