Brown County Human Services Department is looking for "mature" volunteers to become mentors to the  parents of children involved with Child Protective Services (CPS) in the Parent PALS Program.

These parents are typically lacking in skills of budgeting, nutrition, and developing routines for their children before and after school.  There is a special need for a bilingual Spanish speaking volunteer for the father of one child. He would specifically need assistance in understanding the various agencies, programs, his role with his son's school paperwork, differentiating legitimate mail from junk mail, etc.

Orientation, training, and case management services will be provided. Volunteers will also have support through occasional volunteer group "share meetings" guided by the social worker. Mileage reimbursement is available.
