REEDSBURG, WI - Thursday March 26 at 8:30 AM, Citizen Action of Wisconsin, Save the Wisconsin Idea, United Council of UW Students and local leaders will hold a media conference to deliver over 35,000 petitions calling on the the Legislature’s Joint Finance Committee to accept the federal Medicaid funds to cover more people for less, and prevent cuts to the the UW System.

Despite November referendums and March polling results showing strong majorities in favor of accepting federal funds for BadgerCare, the Governor’s budget fails to accept these federal dollars, leaving on the table hundreds of millions in savings that could spare the UW System from damaging cuts.

Advocates for health care and education will deliver to the Finance Committee over 35,000 petitions from every corner of Wisconsin in favor of accepting the federal funds for BadgerCare to protect the UW System.
