afghanistanNew investigation comes to the conclusion that the war has, directly or indirectly, killed around 1 million people in Iraq, 220,000 in Afghanistan and 80,000 in Pakistan, i.e. a total of around 1.3 million.

STOUGHTON, WI - Your government and my government is funding wars all over the globe. US military forces are participating in wars across the globe. Such wars are illegal under our Constitution and international law.

A new report estimates the direct and indirect deaths in just three conflicts Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan. The report estimates 1.3 million men, women and children killed. The refugees from these wars today count in the millions.

The lives ruined and wasted, economies torn apart, the infra-structure destroyed and the environment and human lives to be ruined in the future by depleted uranium and unexploded ordinance are horrific.

"When will we ever learn?" We sang that song in the '60's and sing it now but never learn.

Politicians and corporations get tremendous benefits from wars. The people who fight in the wars and the people who live in the countries in which the wars are fought do not.

The wealth of America and the futures of our youth are being foolishly wasted by the USA spending trillions for dollars on war and high tech weapons and relatively little on high quality education for all, healthcare for all, our nation's infra-structure, our environment and fighting global warming.

Ideas cannot be killed by bullets. The United Nations was created to try to stop or de-escalate conflicts. In general our politicians ridicule the UN, our Congress underfunds it and our ambassadors, many times, are instructed to undermine its efforts at peace building.

Wars have changed in the last 150 years. Today many more civilians are killed than combatants.

We are a foolish nation, lead by politicians wearing blinders, whose constant re-elections are bought with money from the rich who benefit from never ending war.
