radio-announcerJANESVILLE, WI - Janesville Community Radio, Inc. is launching a capital fundraising campaign to raise the funds needed to bring community radio to Janesville starting in June 2015.

JCR wants to raise $25,000 to purchase studio equipment and build a tower for broadcasting a low power FM signal utilizing a permit issued by FCC earlier this year. Currently, JCR is broadcasting a variety of shows online, creating daily podcasts featuring original local voices including "ArtSpark with Edie Baran", "Christ in the City with Ray and Annette Jewel", an all-spanish-language program "Encuentro with Belem Regan", "Discover Janesville with Yuri Rashkin", "Open Mick with Chad Sheridan and Andy Anderson" and others.

JCR programming will be primarily focused on arts, education, and covering local events, as well as providing a unique opportunity for a great variety of music choices to be played by local DJs.The Public is invited to get involved by going to www.JanesvilleCommunityRadio.com and donating via their GoFundMe account set up for this purpose. Those interested are also invited to stop in and visit the studio at 321 E Milwaukee Street.

In recent years, the political right wing has dominated talk radio. JCR believes there is a market for talk radio to a more diverse audience.
