scott-walkerMADISON - Scott Walker is at it again pulling out all the stops to sabotage health reform.

Two weeks ago Walker’s insurance commissioner was poised to release the rates that will be charged in Wisconsin for health insurance in the new competitive marketplace created by ObamaCare.

But then something peculiar happened, the rates were held back, and they have still not been announced.  What do they have to hide?  We are very concerned that the rates for Wisconsin are good news, but that Walker’s team is working to manipulate the numbers to scare people into believing their rates will go up.

At Citizen Action we are pulling out all the stops to hold Scott Walker accountable and prevent him from undermining the implementation of health reform.

In states such as Ohio and Indiana, right-wing Governor’s have released health insurance rates in a misleading way to create the false impression of large rate increases.

This supposed “rate shock” is a hoax.  In most states, rates have gone down, once all factors are considered. For people who face insurance discrimination now because of age, gender, and health conditions, the sticker price for insurance has gone down dramatically.

At Citizen Action we are so concerned that Walker plans to mislead the public, we held a press conference with a renowned economist from MIT to explain to Wisconsin reporters how ObamaCare insurance rates will work, and prepare them to see through the false information we expect the Walker Administration to release any day.

Once the Walker Administration releases the insurance rates, we at Citizen Action have done our homework, and are prepared to immediately debunk any attempt to manipulate the numbers and mislead the public.
